Waterman was founded over 130 years ago in 1870 and is a French company. Waterman creates some of the most elegant and desirable writing instruments in the world today. Waterman pens, known for creating the first even flow fountain pen over 100 years ago, continues creating precise Parisian luxury writing instruments, which led to the explosion of fountain pen use and enjoyment.

The "Ideal Pen Company" was renamed in 1888 to the LE WATERMAN Company. Originally created because a salesman, Lewis Edson Waterman, lost a sale because of a leaking fountain pen. Waterman invents the "Three Fissure Feed" system that for the first time prevents excessive discharge of fountain pen ink. The Waterman Pen Company has a rich heritage or awards and achievements for their ingenuity, design and quality with their outstanding writing instruments.
